MARCHAND & BURCH
GREAT SOUTHERN, WA

Marchand & Burch

IMPORT MARCHAND & BURCH

It was 1990 when Jeff Burch crossed paths with Pascal Marchand, on his first visit to Burgundy, and a fast friendship formed around a profound passion for Pinot Noir. Together they embraced the possibilities of a unique collaboration, and from there they began the Marchand & Burch Collection. Since 2007 the Marchand & Burch label has grown to represent a sophisticated expression of terroir through fine wines produced in Western Australia’s Great Southern region and the Côte d’Or in Burgundy, France.

The wild and remote Great Southern region of Western Australia is still writing its first chapter of vinous history and exploring vast untapped potential. The book on Burgundy stretches back over centuries, and its distinction is firmly established. Marchand & Burch unites these distant lands to create a new perspective on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

It is the wines themselves that bring substance and expression to this unique and idealistic endeavour. In Australia our winemakers led by Janice McDonald follow the Burgundian road map established by Pascal to produce Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reflecting season and place. In this way we unlock the potential of our maturing vineyard sites. Our Australian wines from the Great Southern find their ultimate expression in two cuvees, the Chardonnay sourced from Porongurup and Mount Barker, and the single vineyard Mount Barrow Pinot Noir. The Villages Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Rosé are food-friendly wines showing great varietal character.
