2018 CEO Cabernet Sauvignon

Our CEO range of wines are made from high quality parcels of Hunter Valley grapes specially selected by the Ernest Hill CEO, Ross Wilson.

This noble French grape variety is not common in the Hunter Valley. A native of the Bordeaux area in France, it generally prefers a cooler climate. However, in the right years in the Hunter it can produce some excellent wines. 2018 was one of those years. It is a late ripener and is usually the last variety to be picked.

Our 2018 CEO Cabernet is no exception and we left it on the vines to slowly ripen and produce those delicious plum and blackcurrant flavours. The wine is medium to full bodied with typically vibrant Cabernet tannins. It has a touch of mint and those toasty characters from sixteen months maturation in French oak barrels. A wine of character and finesse.
