Ballycroft Vineyard and Cellars

IMPORT BALLYCROFT VINEYARD AND CELLARS

The name ‘Ballycroft’ was created from the idea of combining two old gaelic words

‘baile’ meaning village or small town and ‘croft’ meaning small piece of arable land or farm.

Ballycroft's rain fed vineyard, planted in 1998, sits on a sloping 15 acre property in the little hamlet of Greenock, Western Barossa Valley.

Joe Evans is the owner, winemaker, vineyard hand and cellar door manager all rolled into one. He alone is involved in every process of the grapes journey, carefully tending them from vine to bottle and everything in between and has over 26 vintages under his belt.

Ballycroft Vineyard and Cellars is a pico-sized, 100% family owned and run winery. The winery runs self sufficiently by using solar with battery storage and collecting rainwater.

This winery is the first of it's kind in Australia to also have the ability to run its winery from the battery of its electric Nissan Leaf car.

Grapes at Ballycroft are handpicked by family and friends, wines are basket pressed and only small quantities of wines are produced on site so can sell out very quickly and may have limits on amounts available to order.
