Rojomoma is an acclaimed family run micro winery and 5ha vineyard in the Barossa Valley. Sam and Bernie, together with our young son hand craft our wine from grape growing and making wine to designing labels. Sam has been making wine for over 30 years. His family history in grape growing and winemaking has continued with every generation since the 1840’s. Our beautiful old vines, including the ancient Grenache vines planted in 1886, grow intensely delicious grapes, perfect for full flavoured red wines of integrity. Our wines have won numerous trophies and awards. Three times we have won the Best Small Producer Trophy at the Barossa Wine Show (2012, 2017 & 2020). The age-ability of our wines has been recognised as winners of the Red Wine of Provenance Trophy at the National Wine Show of Australia (2017), and gaining the top position in a Decanter panel tasting for Barossa Shiraz (May 2023).

Our 5ha vineyard in the Ebenezer sub-region is a fantastic site for red grape growing. The dry grown Grenache vines, planted in 1886, are specifically a testament to that. We make Grenache, Shiraz, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are hand pruned, shoot thinned and handpicked; treating each vine individually to get the best from it.

With over 30 vintages of winemaking, including previous positions as Chief Winemaker St Hugo and Group Red Winemaker Orlando Wines, Sam has been responsible for making some of Australia’s greatest wines. However, making the wines for our own little winery has been the most satisfying. Owning your own winery gives you the absolute freedom to make wine of the highest standard possible, while allowing the wine to express the personality of the vineyard without compromise. You can taste the love and passion, and feel the hands-on effort that goes into a wine from a small winery.
